General Liability Claims Specialist

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a General Liability Claims Specialist with our client.

In this role, you’ll support a dedicated major commercial account while handling multi-party Commercial General Liability claims of low to moderate exposure and complexity. You’ll investigate claims, analyze coverage, determine liability, evaluate bodily injury and property damage exposures, establish reserves, and negotiate resolutions within assigned authority.

General Liability Claims Specialist Responsibilities

• Manage multi-party Commercial General Liability claims from assignment through resolution
• Conduct comprehensive claim investigations and gather information to determine exposure
• Analyze policy coverage and determine liability
• Evaluate bodily injury and property damage claims
• Establish and maintain appropriate indemnity and expense reserves
• Develop claim strategies and action plans to move files toward timely resolution
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority
• Communicate claim activity and resolution strategies with customers, clients, and other stakeholders
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation
• Follow established claims handling protocols and service standards
• Provide customer-focused claims service while supporting the needs of a dedicated commercial account

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims handling experience
• 3+ years of Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims experience
• Experience with claim investigation, coverage analysis, liability determination, and resolution
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products

Preferred

• Carrier-side claims handling experience
• Experience managing multi-party liability claims
• Experience evaluating claim exposure and establishing indemnity and expense reserves
• Experience developing and executing negotiation and resolution strategies
• Bachelor’s degree

Licensing

• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses for assigned jurisdictions
