General Liability Professional Liability Claims Adjuster

Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Remote General Liability & Professional Liability Claims Examiner with our client. As a member of our client’s claims team, utilize your knowledge of complex general liability and professional liability to independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve assigned claims to achieve appropriate outcomes. In this position, you will administer and resolve claims in a timely manner in accordance with legal statutes, policy provisions, and company guidelines.

General Liability & Professional Liability Claims Examiner Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex general liability and professional liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim
• Manages claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution
• Calculates and assigns timely and appropriate reserves to claims; monitors reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim
• Calculates and pays benefits due; approves and makes timely claim payments and adjustments; and settles claims within the designated authority level
• Prepares necessary state filings within statutory limits
• Manages the litigation process; ensures timely and cost-effective claims resolution
• Coordinates vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management
• Uses appropriate cost containment techniques, including strategic vendor partnerships, to reduce the overall cost of claims for our clients
• Manages claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets
• Reports claims to the excess carrier and responds to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner
• Communicates claim activity and processing with the claimant and client; maintains professional client relationships
• Ensures claim files are properly documented, and claims coding is correct

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience handling general liability and professional liability claims required
• Product liability experience is a plus, but not required

Licensing

• An active Florida (or another reciprocal state) adjuster license is required
• A New York adjuster license is preferred, but not required
