Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has multiple immediate openings for Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjusters with our client, a leading national insurance claims services organization. These are fully remote opportunities available anywhere in the United States. In this role, you’ll manage complex construction defect claims, including heavily litigated matters, ensuring timely investigation, evaluation, and resolution in accordance with state statutes, client handling guidelines, and industry best practices.

Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex construction defect claims commensurate with claim complexity
  • Investigate claims by establishing facts of loss, conducting coverage analysis, and determining liability or negligence
  • Evaluate damages and develop appropriate claim resolution strategies
  • Manage heavily litigated claims and coordinate with defense counsel and experts as needed
  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves and complete required reporting
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and recommend settlements exceeding authority
  • Identify potential fraud and utilize appropriate investigative resources when necessary
  • Coordinate medical care when appropriate and manage vendor relationships
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure claim metrics and reporting are kept current
  • Attend conferences, client meetings, and provide mentorship to other adjusters as requested
  • Ensure all claim handling complies with state statutes, client guidelines, and company best practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include occasional travel

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of claims adjusting experience, preferably in construction defect or complex liability claims
  • 7+ years of heavy litigation experience for non-workers’ compensation claims
  • 5+ years of construction defect or related claims experience required
  • Experience handling claims with a reserve/payment authority of $50,000 or greater
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage complex claims and meet deadlines

Licensing / Certifications

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster License or other required jurisdictional licensing

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
