Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster with our client. This is a fully remote direct-hire opportunity for an experienced adjuster with a strong background handling Colorado workers’ compensation claims.

In this role, you’ll manage a desk of Colorado lost time workers’ compensation claims, including litigated matters. You’ll handle claims from investigation through resolution while managing medical treatment, indemnity benefits, reserves, litigation, and settlement strategies in accordance with Colorado workers’ compensation requirements.

Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Manage Colorado lost time workers’ compensation claims from inception through resolution
• Investigate claims and determine compensability
• Administer medical and indemnity benefits in accordance with applicable requirements
• Manage litigated workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with defense counsel
• Develop and maintain effective claim action plans
• Establish and maintain appropriate reserves based on claim exposure
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements within designated authority
• Coordinate medical management and return-to-work efforts
• Identify potential subrogation and recovery opportunities
• Communicate with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and other involved parties
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with Colorado workers’ compensation requirements and established claims best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Colorado workers’ compensation claims handling experience
• Strong Colorado lost time/indemnity claims experience
• Experience handling litigated workers’ compensation claims
• Knowledge of Colorado workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and claims handling practices

Preferred

• Workers’ compensation claims experience in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and/or Texas
• Multi-state workers’ compensation claims handling experience
• Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter

Licensing

• Active adjuster license required
• Must maintain any additional licenses required for assigned jurisdictions
