Surety Client Administrator
Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Surety Client Administrator with our client in San Diego, CA. This is a direct-hire opportunity requiring in-office training during onboarding, with the potential for a remote, hybrid, or in-office schedule once training is complete.
In this role, you’ll serve as a primary client contact for processing bond requests and supporting the day-to-day servicing of surety accounts. You’ll work closely with clients, underwriters, and internal team members to coordinate bond execution, maintain account documentation, process invoicing, and ensure client surety needs are handled accurately and efficiently.
Surety Client Administrator Responsibilities
- Process bond requests and prequalification (PQ) letters
- Obtain approval and communicate conditions of approval for bond requests within established authority
- Prepare and manage routine bond requests, including endorsements, consents, renewals, closing activities, and status inquiries
- Track bid results and coordinate subcontract bond authentication
- Maintain client and surety company servicing documents
- Communicate surety company requirements needed to process bonds and related documentation
- Maintain control sheets, summary sheets, and account information within SuretyPro
- Process new account setup and data entry
- Prepare client kits, General Indemnity Agreements (GIAs), line sheets, and updates
- Administer department invoicing, monitor aging, and help keep accounts receivable current
- Review and maintain scanned correspondence, mailings, and faxes
- Respond to client and surety company questions regarding accounts
- Work with underwriters and clients to obtain information needed for lines of credit and specific bond requests
- Assist with marketing new business and renewal lines of credit
- Provide backup support to other members of the Surety department as needed
- Notarize bonds and other applicable documents
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Experience within insurance, surety, financial services, or a related professional environment preferred
- Experience processing bonds or servicing surety accounts is preferred
- Ability to work with physical and electronic client and bond documentation
- Experience with account servicing, invoicing, or accounts receivable is a plus
- Familiarity with SuretyPro or similar systems is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of insurance or surety industry experience
- Licensed Notary or ability to become a licensed Notary
- Previous experience working with surety bonds, bond requests, or underwriting teams
Work Arrangement
- Direct-hire opportunity
- Candidates must be local to the San Diego, CA area
- In-office training required during onboarding due to the hands-on nature of bond processing and physical documentation
- Following training, the work arrangement may transition to remote, hybrid, or in-office based on the needs of the position and team
