Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster | Northeast experience

Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Remote Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster with our client. As a member of our client’s claims team, utilize your knowledge of workers’ compensation to independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex claims in order to achieve appropriate outcomes. In this position, you will administer and resolve claims in a timely manner in accordance with legal statutes, policy provisions, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements.

Workers’ Compensation Lost Time Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers’ compensation claims to determine benefits due
• Investigate claims and gather information to determine exposure and appropriate resolution strategy
• Develop and manage claims through well-structured action plans to timely resolution
• Establish and monitor reserves to ensure adequacy throughout the life of the claim
• Calculate and pay benefits; approve timely claim payments and adjustments
• Manage litigation and coordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management
• Utilize cost containment strategies, including medical management and strategic vendor partnerships
• Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets
• Report claims to excess carriers and respond to direction requests professionally and timely manner
• Maintain proper documentation, claims coding accuracy, and professional communication with claimants and clients

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience handling workers’ compensation lost time claims as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster

Licensing

• An active adjuster license is required for NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, DC, DE, WV, and/or VA jurisdictions
