Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor with our client in Fresno, California. This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the Fresno office and is a temp-to-hire opportunity. In this leadership role, you will directly supervise claims staff while ensuring compliance with California workers’ compensation statutes, client handling instructions, and company guidelines.

Workers’ Compensation Lost Time Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Claims Examiners and Claims Assistants, including attendance monitoring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
• Review and address scheduled claim issues, including initial reviews, delays, denials, and periodic file reviews
• Review and approve reserve changes, awards, and payments within company and client guidelines
• Conduct file reviews to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and California workers’ compensation laws
• Establish and manage supervisory diaries, ensuring the timely completion of all pending items
• Prepare for and facilitate internal and external claim audits; review results and provide rebuttal feedback as needed
• Coordinate and lead training sessions on updated laws, policies, and procedures
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet daily caseload requirements
• Respond to claimant and vendor concerns and escalated claim issues
• Ensure adherence to client handling instructions
• Analyze monthly client reports and participate in client file-staffing meetings (in-person or virtual)

Qualifications

• 3+ years of California workers’ compensation claims experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation statutes and medical terminology
• Previous experience in a team lead, supervisor or leadership role

Certification

• CA SIP Certification is required

Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
