Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster with our client. This is a temporary remote opportunity for candidates located within California.

In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of complex California workers’ compensation claims, including litigated and high-exposure files. You’ll investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims while ensuring compliance with California statutes, client guidelines, and industry best practices.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze complex workers’ compensation claims to determine compensability and benefit eligibility
  • Manage litigated and high-exposure indemnity claims from inception through resolution
  • Develop and execute strategic claim action plans to achieve timely claim resolution
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves throughout the life of each claim
  • Calculate and issue indemnity and medical benefit payments accurately and timely
  • Prepare and submit required state filings within statutory deadlines
  • Coordinate with defense counsel, medical providers, investigators, and other vendors
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities and other available recoveries
  • Utilize cost containment strategies and medical management resources
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and provide timely communication with claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure all claim handling complies with California workers’ compensation regulations, client service requirements, and company best practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of California workers’ compensation claims handling experience required
  • Experience handling complex, litigated California workers’ compensation claims
  • Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation statutes and claims handling procedures
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to independently manage a complex caseload in a remote environment

Certification

  • OSIP Certification is required

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Professional claims certifications are a plus
