Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner in with our client. This is a direct-hire opportunity for an experienced workers’ compensation claims professional with a strong background handling Pennsylvania and New Jersey claims. This position is a hybrid role based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, requiring two days per week in the office. In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of Pennsylvania and New Jersey workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely claim resolution while maintaining compliance with client guidelines, industry best practices, and applicable state regulations.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve Pennsylvania and New Jersey workers’ compensation claims from assignment through closure
• Manage a caseload of approximately 125–150 workers’ compensation claims
• Analyze claim facts, determine compensability, and evaluate exposure
• Develop and execute strategic action plans to drive claims toward timely and appropriate resolution
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves
• Communicate claim activity and claim strategy with clients, injured workers, medical providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders
• Ensure all claim files are properly documented and maintained in accordance with company standards
• Meet all jurisdictional requirements and regulatory deadlines
• Maintain compliance with client handling instructions, company standards, and applicable workers’ compensation regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience
• Experience handling Pennsylvania and New Jersey workers’ compensation claims is required
• Ability to independently manage a moderate to complex workers’ compensation caseload
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation claims investigation, evaluation, and resolution
• Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced claims environment

Licensing

• No adjuster licenses required for this position

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Industry designations are a plus

• Salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually
