Employee Benefits Account Manager

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for an Employee Benefits Account Manager with our client. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Chattanooga, TN, with employees working in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

In this role, you’ll serve as a primary day-to-day contact for assigned group benefits clients, managing client service needs, renewals, benefits administration, and carrier relationships. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of employee benefits account management or client service experience and a strong background working with group benefits.

Employee Benefits Account Manager Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned employee benefits clients
• Manage client inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, and coverage
• Process policy changes, enrollments, terminations, reinstatements, and other client service requests
• Partner with insurance carriers and vendors to resolve client issues
• Support the employee benefits renewal process by gathering information, preparing materials, and coordinating timelines
• Assist with client presentations and renewal meetings
• Review plan documents, applications, and policy information for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain accurate client records, documentation, activities, and communications within agency management systems
• Assist with open enrollment preparation and employee communications
• Collaborate with Producers, Account Executives, carriers, and internal teams to support client retention and growth
• Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships through proactive service and additional coverage solutions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Employee Benefits account management or client service experience
• Group benefits experience required
• Experience managing multiple employee benefits client accounts
• Experience supporting employee benefits renewals and ongoing client service
• Experience working within an insurance agency, brokerage, carrier, or benefits consulting environment
• Strong understanding of group benefits products, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts, deadlines, and service requests
• Proficiency with agency management systems and other insurance technology platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Life & Health Insurance License
• Ability to obtain a Life & Health Insurance License if not currently licensed

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid position based in Chattanooga, TN
• In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Monday and Friday remote
