General Liability Claims Adjuster

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a General Liability Claims Adjuster with our client. This position offers a hybrid schedule with two days per week in the office and three days remote. Fully remote candidates may also be considered, although preference will be given to local candidates who can work in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

In this role, you’ll manage mid- to higher-level General Liability claims from investigation through resolution. You’ll evaluate liability and exposure, establish reserves, manage claim payments, negotiate settlements, identify recovery opportunities, and maintain effective communication with clients and claimants.

General Liability Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Manage mid- to higher-level General Liability claims from investigation through resolution
• Gather and analyze claim information to determine liability and exposure
• Evaluate liability and develop appropriate claim action plans
• Establish and maintain appropriate reserves throughout the life of the claim
• Approve and process claim payments within designated authority
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements within established authority
• Identify and pursue subrogation and recovery opportunities
• Communicate claim activity, developments, and resolution strategies with clients and claimants
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation and coding
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with client requirements and established claims practices
• Maintain professional client relationships throughout the claims process

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of General Liability claims handling experience
• Experience independently evaluating liability, exposure, reserves, and settlements
• Knowledge of General Liability insurance principles and claims handling practices
• Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred

• Experience handling General Liability claims for retail clients or within retail environments
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid schedule with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office
• Remote work on Monday, Thursday, and Friday
• Fully remote candidates will be considered
• Preference given to local candidates who can work in the office two days per week
