Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor | Dallas, TX area

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor with our client in Irving, Texas. This is a direct-hire opportunity overseeing a team of workers’ compensation claims professionals. In-office candidates are preferred, although hybrid or fully remote arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates residing outside the Dallas metroplex.

In this role, you’ll oversee the daily operations of a workers’ compensation claims unit, providing technical guidance, staff development, and quality oversight. You’ll monitor caseloads, review claim activity, support client relationships, coordinate audits, and ensure claims are handled in accordance with Texas workers’ compensation requirements and client expectations.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor Responsibilities

• Supervise Claims Examiners, Claims Assistants, and assigned support personnel
• Oversee daily claims operations and distribute caseloads among team members
• Monitor claims-handling quality, productivity, and compliance with client requirements
• Provide technical guidance on complex workers’ compensation claims and claim resolution strategies
• Review and approve priority payments and claim transactions within designated authority
• Provide claims-handling coverage during employee absences or staffing vacancies
• Coach, train, and evaluate claims personnel to support professional development and performance improvement
• Prepare and review monthly client reports and participate in client file reviews
• Coordinate internal and external claims audits and address identified action items
• Resolve escalated claimant, vendor, and client service concerns
• Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes within established guidelines
• Conduct training sessions and support ongoing claims-handling education
• Collaborate with management and client service teams on account needs, service issues, and proposals
• Ensure compliance with Texas workers’ compensation regulations, company policies, and client handling instructions

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience, with 5–7 years preferred
• Minimum of 1–2 years of supervisory experience overseeing workers’ compensation Claims Examiners
• Experience with subscriber workers’ compensation claims
• Experience overseeing claims operations, caseload distribution, and claims-handling quality
• Strong knowledge of Texas workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and claims-handling requirements

Preferred

• Experience handling workers’ compensation claims for cities, counties, municipalities, or other public entities
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Licensing & Certifications

• Active Texas Workers’ Compensation Adjuster License required
