Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for an Architects & Engineers (A&E) Claims Adjuster with our client in a remote capacity. In this role, you’ll handle a caseload of complex, claims-made professional liability claims involving design professionals, managing files from inception through resolution. This position requires strong experience with litigated A&E claims and the ability to develop strategic approaches to coverage, liability, and settlement.

Architects & Engineers (A&E) Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of claims-made A&E professional liability claims from assignment through final resolution
  • Conduct detailed investigations and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages
  • Analyze policy language and communicate coverage positions to insureds and other stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain appropriate expense and indemnity reserves
  • Develop and execute claim resolution strategies, including negotiation and settlement
  • Proactively manage litigation, including directing defense counsel, budgeting, and bill review
  • Attend mediations, trials, and settlement conferences as needed
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and present case updates to leadership
  • Collaborate with underwriting and other internal teams on claim trends and risk management strategies
  • Provide training, contract review support, and risk management guidance to internal and external partners
  • Maintain excellent client service through consistent communication with insureds, brokers, and agents

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience handling litigated professional liability claims, specifically Architects & Engineers (A&E) or design professional liability
  • Strong knowledge of coverage analysis, liability evaluation, and litigation management
  • Experience managing defense counsel and complex litigation strategies
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred
  • Experience with risk management contract reviews
  • Background in professional liability or financial lines claims

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
