Senior Casualty Cyber Claims Specialist

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Casualty Cyber Claims Specialist with our client. This is a fully remote, direct-hire opportunity requiring extensive experience handling complex cyber liability and casualty claims. Candidates must have at least seven years of cyber claims experience, including expertise in coverage analysis, liability evaluation, litigation management, and claims resolution.

In this role, you’ll independently manage complex casualty claims arising from cyber events and technology-related incidents, including data breaches, ransomware attacks, and network security failures. You’ll evaluate coverage, liability, and damages; coordinate with defense counsel and technical experts; establish reserves; and develop claim resolution strategies while collaborating with underwriting, legal, brokers, and insureds.

Senior Casualty Cyber Claims Specialist Responsibilities

• Manage complex cyber-related casualty claims, including third-party bodily injury, property damage, and liability exposures
• Investigate claims arising from data breaches, ransomware events, network security failures, and other cyber incidents
• Analyze insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions, and coverage provisions to determine applicable coverage
• Evaluate liability, damages, and potential claim exposure to develop appropriate resolution strategies
• Establish and maintain accurate claim reserves and manage settlements within designated authority
• Oversee litigated claims and coordinate with external defense counsel
• Engage and manage forensic experts, technical consultants, and other claims vendors
• Collaborate with underwriting, legal, risk engineering, and other internal stakeholders on complex claim matters
• Communicate claim developments and resolution strategies with insureds, brokers, and internal management
• Maintain accurate claim documentation, timely system updates, and appropriate diary management
• Monitor emerging cyber risks, claim trends, and evolving liability exposures
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company claims-handling standards, and audit requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of cyber claims handling experience
• Experience handling complex cyber liability, casualty, or third-party liability claims within commercial property and casualty insurance
• Strong knowledge of cyber insurance coverage, policy interpretation, liability assessment, and claims resolution
• Experience managing complex claims involving coverage disputes, litigation, and significant financial exposure
• Ability to independently manage a caseload of complex claims from investigation through resolution
• Experience coordinating with defense counsel, forensic experts, and other claims professionals
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field

Preferred

• Direct experience handling cyber-triggered casualty losses involving bodily injury, property damage, or other third-party exposures
• Experience handling emerging technology-related risks and complex cyber incidents
• Professional designation such as AIC, CPCU, or a similar claims-focused certification
