Commercial Auto/GL Unit Manager

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Commercial Auto/GL Unit Manager with our client. This is a hybrid direct-hire opportunity that can be based out of any company office location, with a schedule of three days in the office each week. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee a team of claims professionals handling commercial auto and general liability claims while providing technical guidance, mentorship, and operational leadership to ensure exceptional claim outcomes and customer service.

Commercial Auto/GL Unit Manager Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 direct reports handling commercial auto and general liability claims
• Provide technical expertise and oversight for complex auto liability and general liability claims
• Monitor claim handling activities to ensure compliance with company guidelines, best practices, and regulatory requirements
• Review claim files and provide direction regarding investigation, coverage analysis, reserving, and resolution strategies
• Support staff development through training, mentorship, performance management, and ongoing feedback
• Ensure timely and effective claim resolution while maintaining high levels of customer service
• Assist with establishing team goals, performance metrics, and operational objectives
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive claim department initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts
• Manage workloads and resource allocation to ensure efficient claim operations
• Serve as a key resource for escalated claim matters and complex coverage issues
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented team environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial claims experience handling general liability and auto liability claims
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or team management experience
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial auto and general liability claims handling practices
• Experience managing complex liability exposures and claim resolution strategies
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and claims management systems

Licensing

• An active adjuster license is required
• Florida and Texas licenses are preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and related claims experience

Compensation

• Salary range of $125,000 – $135,000+, depending on experience and qualifications
• Strong candidates with additional experience may be considered above the stated range

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office
• Opportunity can be based in any company office location in the following states (AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, MI, MO, NC, TX)
