Commercial Auto Liability Claims Supervisor

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Commercial Auto Liability Claims Supervisor with our client. This is a fully remote direct-hire opportunity supporting a New York commercial auto liability account. Candidates may work remotely, with preference given to professionals residing on the East Coast.

In this role, you’ll oversee the handling of New York Commercial Auto Liability claims, including Bodily Injury and Property Damage exposures across both litigated and non-litigated files. You’ll provide technical claims oversight, support adjusters with complex files, and help ensure claims are handled effectively and in accordance with New York requirements and client expectations.

Commercial Auto Liability Claims Supervisor Responsibilities

• Supervise the handling of New York Commercial Auto Liability claims
• Provide technical guidance and oversight on Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims
• Review complex, high-exposure, and litigated claims and provide direction on claim strategy
• Oversee claim investigations, coverage and liability evaluations, reserving, and settlement strategies
• Provide guidance on litigation management and work with adjusters and defense counsel to move claims toward resolution
• Review claim files for appropriate documentation, reserves, action plans, and compliance
• Provide settlement and reserve authority within designated levels
• Monitor claim quality, productivity, and adherence to client service requirements
• Coach and mentor claims professionals on technical claim handling and professional development
• Assist with escalated claim issues and complex coverage or liability matters
• Participate in client claim reviews and communicate claim developments and strategies
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with New York requirements, company procedures, and client expectations

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or providing technical oversight for Commercial Auto Liability claims
• Strong New York Commercial Auto claims experience
• Experience handling Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims
• Experience with both litigated and non-litigated claims
• Experience managing complex or high-exposure Commercial Auto Liability claims

Preferred

• Candidates residing on the East Coast
• Experience supporting large or dedicated commercial accounts

Licensing & Certifications

• Active New York adjuster license required
