Commercial Auto, PIP & General Liability Claims Examiner

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Commercial Auto, PIP & General Liability Claims Examiner with our client in a fully remote capacity. This is a direct-hire opportunity to handle a diverse caseload of liability claims, including commercial auto, no-fault/PIP, and general liability exposures. In this role, you’ll investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims while ensuring compliance with policy provisions, regulatory requirements, and client guidelines.

Commercial Auto, PIP & General Liability Claims Examiner Responsibilities

• Review and interpret policy coverage to determine applicability for auto, PIP/no-fault, and general liability claims
• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims, including those in litigation
• Manage claim files from inception through resolution with minimal supervision
• Direct and coordinate outside investigators, defense counsel, and vendors as needed
• Maintain ongoing diary systems to track claim activity and ensure timely follow-up
• Evaluate claim exposure and establish appropriate reserves and settlement strategies
• Prepare detailed loss reports outlining coverage, liability, and damages analysis
• Identify and pursue subrogation and risk transfer opportunities when applicable
• Maintain accurate and thorough claim documentation, including all correspondence and decisions
• Provide excellent client service and communicate effectively with claimants, attorneys, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience handling commercial auto, PIP/no-fault, and general liability claims
• Strong knowledge of claims handling practices, coverage analysis, and litigation management
• Experience managing litigated claims and working with defense counsel
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a remote environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Licensing

• An active New York Adjuster License is required

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
