Commercial Senior Client Manager

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Commercial Senior Client Manager with our client. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a salary of $115,000–$145,000+, depending on experience, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.

Candidates located in San Diego or Southern California are strongly preferred; however, qualified candidates throughout California and the Western United States will also be considered.

Commercial Senior Client Manager Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary service contact for a portfolio of complex commercial insurance accounts
• Manage new business, renewals, and ongoing client service activities
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal business partners
• Independently conduct client meetings, presentations, and renewal strategy discussions
• Deliver exceptional client service while identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and retain business

Account Management & Technical Expertise

• Review risk management surveys and identify client exposures
• Analyze complex commercial insurance coverages, underwriting data, loss ratios, experience modification factors, and audit results
• Develop marketing strategies with producers and leadership to obtain competitive coverage solutions
• Prepare submissions, negotiate pricing, coverage terms, and carrier agreements
• Create and maintain Statements of Values, schedules, certificates, proposals, and other client-facing documentation
• Conduct contract and lease reviews to identify insurance and risk transfer requirements
• Review Certificates of Insurance for contractual compliance and provide client guidance when needed
• Partner with Risk Control and Claims teams to address complex risk management issues

Team Leadership

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members
• Assist with training and professional development
• Support producers in developing and retaining commercial accounts
• Maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters and market representatives
• Identify and communicate potential Errors & Omissions exposures to leadership

Qualifications

• Active California Property & Casualty Insurance License required
• 5+ years of Commercial Lines Client Management experience
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and risk management principles
• Experience managing complex commercial accounts from marketing through renewal
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organization, and project management skills
• Advanced attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service
• Industry designations (CIC, CPCU, ARM, CRM, or similar) are highly desirable
• Proficiency with standard agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Compensation

• Salary range: $115,000–$145,000+, depending on experience and qualifications
