Director, Broker Production & Development

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Director, Broker Production & Development with our client. This is a direct-hire opportunity available in New York, NY, or remote for candidates located outside the West Coast time zone. In this highly visible, growth-focused role, you’ll drive broker distribution strategy, expand relationships with retail and wholesale brokers, and increase submission flow and premium production across Specialty BOP, Cyber, Management Liability, and Professional Liability products.

Director, Broker Production & Development Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of appointed retail and wholesale broker partners
• Drive submission volume, bound premium growth, and broker engagement across multiple specialty insurance products
• Analyze broker production metrics and develop targeted growth and reactivation strategies
• Conduct regular business reviews, training sessions, and product discussions with broker partners
• Identify, solicit, and appoint new retail and wholesale brokerage relationships
• Manage the broker appointment process from initial outreach through the first bound account
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, and broker events
• Partner with underwriting and product teams to communicate appetite and product updates to distribution partners
• Collaborate with marketing teams on broker-focused campaigns and business development initiatives
• Track and report key production metrics, including submission volume, quote-to-bind ratios, and premium growth
• Provide market intelligence and broker feedback to leadership and product stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve broker experience and remove barriers to growth

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of commercial insurance experience in underwriting, production underwriting, business development, distribution, or broker management roles
• Demonstrated success in achieving production, premium growth, submission volume, or distribution goals
• Strong understanding of commercial property and casualty underwriting concepts, terminology, and workflow
• Experience building and maintaining retail and/or wholesale broker relationships
• Ability to analyze production data and identify growth opportunities
• Advanced communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational and business development abilities
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excel proficiency required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cyber, Management Liability, Professional Liability, or Specialty BOP products
• Experience with CRM and agency management platforms such as Salesforce, EPIC, AMS360, or similar systems
• Experience developing new broker channels or distribution programs
• Background in production-focused underwriting environments

Compensation

• Base salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000+ based on experience and production background
• Uncapped variable compensation opportunity targeting approximately 50% of base salary
• Equity compensation available

Work Arrangement

• Remote or New York, NY-based opportunity
• Direct-hire position
• Approximately 40% to 50% travel for broker visits, conferences, marketing events, and client meetings
• Candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones preferred
