Employee Benefits Risk Advisor
Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for an Employee Benefits Risk Advisor with our client. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a base salary of $60,000–$110,000+, depending on experience, transferable book of business, and qualifications, plus unlimited commission and bonus potential.
Candidates located in San Diego or Southern California are strongly preferred; however, remote candidates throughout the Western United States—and exceptional candidates nationwide—will also be considered.

Employee Benefits Risk Advisor Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute a personal business development strategy to achieve sales goals
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, referral partners, and centers of influence
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, and consultative selling
- Conduct client meetings and deliver professional sales presentations
- Identify client needs and recommend comprehensive employee benefits solutions
- Cross-sell additional agency products and services
- Provide risk management and loss prevention guidance to clients
- Participate in team sales opportunities and collaborative business development initiatives
Client Service & Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through exceptional service
- Review benefit proposals and recommend appropriate coverage strategies
- Collaborate with internal service teams to develop customized employee benefit programs
- Assist with renewal strategy, account marketing, and client retention efforts
- Resolve claims, billing, and service-related issues
- Maintain accurate client documentation within the agency management system
- Ensure clients receive proactive service and ongoing support throughout the policy lifecycle
Professional Growth
- Participate in ongoing sales training and professional development
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and association meetings
- Deliver presentations for professional organizations, community events, and educational seminars
- Contribute to community organizations and professional associations
- Consistently meet sales objectives while maintaining exceptional client service standards
Qualifications
- Active California Life & Health License required
- 4+ years of Employee Benefits sales or Risk Advisor experience preferred
- Demonstrated success developing new business and achieving sales goals
- Experience managing client relationships and building a profitable book of business
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and relationship-building abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Compensation
- Base salary: $60,000–$110,000+, depending on experience and transferable book of business
