Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjuster

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjuster with our client. This is a fully remote, direct-hire opportunity open to qualified candidates throughout the United States. Candidates must have extensive construction defect claims experience, including a strong background managing complex, heavily litigated claims.

In this role, you’ll independently manage complex construction defect claims from investigation through resolution. You’ll evaluate coverage, liability, and damages; coordinate litigation with defense counsel; establish appropriate reserves; and develop effective claim resolution strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and client requirements.

Senior Construction Defect Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Manage complex construction defect claims from assignment through resolution
• Investigate claims and evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and potential exposure
• Analyze insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions, and applicable coverage provisions
• Manage heavily litigated construction defect claims and coordinate with defense counsel
• Develop claim strategies and litigation management plans to achieve effective resolutions
• Establish, evaluate, and adjust claim reserves based on exposure and claim developments
• Evaluate settlement opportunities and negotiate resolutions within designated authority
• Review legal developments, expert findings, and supporting documentation to assess claim exposure
• Coordinate with attorneys, insureds, claimants, experts, and other involved parties
• Monitor litigation expenses, legal strategies, and claim progression
• Maintain accurate claim documentation, reserve evaluations, and timely diary management
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with applicable regulations, company guidelines, and client requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of claims adjusting experience
• Minimum of 5 years of construction defect claims handling experience
• Minimum of 7 years of experience handling heavily litigated claims
• Extensive experience managing complex construction defect claims involving coverage, liability, and damages
• Experience coordinating litigation with defense counsel and evaluating settlement strategies
• Ability to qualify for reserve and payment authority of $50,000 or more, as appropriate

Preferred

• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or higher
• Additional experience handling complex commercial liability or construction-related claims

Licensing & Certifications

• An active Florida adjuster license is required
