Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Insurance Placement Solutions (IPS) has an immediate opening for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster with our client. This is a direct-hire opportunity focused primarily on Minnesota workers’ compensation claims. The position offers remote flexibility, although candidates located near the Minneapolis area are preferred.

In this role, you’ll manage Minnesota workers’ compensation claims from investigation through resolution, applying your jurisdictional knowledge to evaluate compensability, manage benefits, establish reserves, and resolve claims effectively. While Minnesota will be the primary focus, experience handling Wisconsin or other Midwest jurisdictions is beneficial.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster Responsibilities

• Manage Minnesota workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution
• Investigate claims and determine compensability
• Evaluate claim exposure and establish appropriate reserves
• Manage medical and indemnity benefits throughout the life of the claim
• Develop and maintain effective claim strategies and action plans
• Manage litigated claims and coordinate with defense counsel as appropriate
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements within designated authority
• Identify potential subrogation and recovery opportunities
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation
• Communicate claim activity and developments with clients, claimants, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with Minnesota workers’ compensation requirements and established claims practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of workers’ compensation claims handling experience preferred; candidates with 3+ years of strong claims experience and demonstrated technical knowledge will also be considered
• Experience handling Minnesota workers’ compensation claims
• Experience independently managing claims from investigation through resolution

Preferred

• Wisconsin workers’ compensation claims experience
• Experience handling additional Midwest jurisdictions

Licensing & Certifications

• Active Minnesota adjuster license required
